Job Description

We are seeking a Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our team full-time. This role will support one primary attorney (with potential collaboration with others) and will play an integral part in ensuring legal and administrative workflows run smoothly and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, briefs, and legal correspondence (no templates - strong drafting skills required)
  • Ordering medical records
  • Communicating with Insurance companies
  • Assist with attorney calendaring, e-filing (state and occasional federal), and managing deadlines
  • Set meetings, attend consultations and internal team meetings
  • Maintain case files and organize documentation
  • Attend regular paralegal team meetings
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and Adobe; familiarity with CaseNet and federal filing systems is a plus
  • Interact professionally with clients and team members, handling varying personalities with diplomacy and confidence

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Prior experience in a legal or administrative role preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Professional demeanor on the phone and in person
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Positive attitude and a "thick skin" - ability to adapt to diverse personalities on the team

Bonus Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Paralegal certificate or degree
  • Experience with e-filing in Missouri state courts or federal courts
  • Experience working in Personal Injury, Administrative, or Family Law

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Work Setting: Full-time in-office (occasional remote work possible during inclement weather)
  • Interview process includes 1 interview with the Office Manager (supervisor) and possibly one attorney

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 based on experience
  • Benefits (after 60-day probation):
    • 10 days PTO + 10 days sick leave
    • Time-and-a-half overtime pay (hourly role)
